Educational programs and services that are routed in Indigenous culture and language.

Head Start Preschool: Registered Early Childhood Educators nurture the social, physical, emotional, spiritual and cognitive development of Indigenous children, while supporting and honouring their parents and guardians as their primary teachers.

Head Start Parent: opportunity to learn their traditional teachings with their children, gain confidence with parenting abilities through workshops, learn new skills such as making moccasins or planting a vegetable garden, and improve their knowledge of preparing nutritious meals.

Early Learning and Childcare centre: Licensed child care for infants, toddler, and preschoolers.

EarlyON Child and Family Centre: provides children from birth to age six opportunities to engage in play with parents and caregivers. Call 905-549-4884 Ext. 416 to make a reservation.

Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP): provides support to improve the health and well-being of pregnant women, new mothers and babies facing challenging life circumstance

Community Action Program for Children (CAPC): aims to strengthen Indigenous families with children 0-6 years old by providing programming and services that support and enhances healthy child development. Family Arts and Crafts, Child Safety Kits, Community Socials and Events, Cooking Classes, Cultural Teachings, First Aid/CPR Certification, Traditional Parenting Class, Safe Food Handling Certification, Family Outings, Physical Activities.

YWCA Hamilton

YWCA Hamilton Family Access Centre: provides a critical service to ensure the safety of children and their families. This program creates a safe space where visitations and exchanges can occur free of conflict, violence or pressure on children.

EarlyON Child and Family services: opportunities for children from birth to 6 years of age to participate in play and inquiry-based programs, and support parents and caregivers in their roles.

Check It Out Drop In: free program where parents can ask questions about their child’s development; opportunity for families to drop in and speak with clinicians regarding their child’s growth and development.

Feeding Your Baby and Young Children sessions: attend a free session to learn how to feed your baby (0-12 months0 or young child (1-6 years old).

Transitional Housing support for mothers under 21 years with their children. Residents receive support and programming, including life skills, goal setting and child development training designed to break barriers for multiple generations.

New Choices Program - Community day treatment program for women who are pregnant or mothering young children and have substance addictions, provides opportunity to access addiction and parenting services based on individual needs, offers childcare and programming to children. Young Parent program provides compassionate care for pregnant and parenting youth (under 21 years) and their children through a range of youth-friendly services and supports in a welcoming and safe environment.

Residence Program: The residence is a welcoming, nurturing, home-like setting with the capacity for 12 mothers and babies. Young women between the ages of 13- 21 can arrive at any time during their pregnancy and stay with their babies for several months. The length of stay is dependent on individual needs.

Community Outreach Program: The Get Connected program and the Youth Housing Support program provide support for pregnant and parenting young people living in the community who may need assistance making connections to community resources and securing safe housing.

Day Treatment & School Program: Pregnant and parenting young women who live in the community can access school, programs, and on-site supports through the Day Program.
